My role
Three identities, print and three websitesIn-house at Booth Group

One harbourside venue in Porthcawl, three names: I designed Harbour Bar & Kitchen, rebranded it as Bar & Kitchen Co., then again as 1832, with the print and a website for each.

1832 sits on Porthcawl Harbour with views across the Bristol Channel: a restaurant, bar and live music venue. In my time it has had three names, and I've designed all three. It was Harbour Bar & Kitchen, became Bar & Kitchen Co., and is now 1832, each change made at the owner's direction, and each with its own identity, print and website.

The date was there from the start: 1832 sat in the middle of the Harbour roundel. Bar & Kitchen Co. kept the roundel and moved to gold on deep green. 1832 drops the roundel and makes the year the name, set over the contour lines of a chart. Some things carry through: the board outside was redrawn for every name, and Harbour Happy Hours still runs every Thursday.

Today's site puts the three things people come for at the top of every page: menus, the calendar and booking a table. Every menu can be downloaded, and the booking page shows what's on for the date you pick (the Wednesday Social, say, with its own menu) before you choose a party size and time.
